2010 SEASON REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

IMPORTANT – Please review this page in detail before clicking the “Proceed To Online Registration Now” link at the bottom of the page below.  Begin by reading the "Registration Frequently Asked Questions” shown below to determine your child’s league eligibility, league age (accordingly to Little League), the correct division you should register him/her for, and several other items that may be helpful to know.

The following divisions are currently open and need just a few players each.  BOYS - COACH PITCH, A BALL, AA BALL, SENIORS.  GIRLS - TEE BALL.  If the league you desire to register your child is closed please see the directors tab at the top of this website and email the proper V.P. to be placed on a wait list.

If your child is from F.P. Schools please use the $20.00 discount to offset the late fee for your registration.

NOTE:   Beginning in 2010 , a  league-wide requirement of sweat equity  is being asked of every family.  To help encourage this much needed help, fees for each registration have increased $25.00 per season. If you are willing to help out (we are requesting at least 2 hours per family/player) you can select the box stating that you will volunteer some time during the season to help the league  and  you will receive an instant credit of $25.00 per player which will keep the fees the same as last year , with the exception of interlocking teams.  Examples of what you can do are listed within the registration process.  The most important area  that we need  help with  is full participation for field prep .  Help is also needed with our other fundraisers that we have had in the pastincluding a new Concession Stand that we will be opening for 2010 at the Grange.  If you don't want to participate in the Sweat Equity program, simply select "No" to the question in the registration process.  We will ask you to turn your equity information into the team parent who will turn  it into the league.  When registering please note where you would like to help out.  If you have multiple areas you would like to help with please put it in the notes of your registration.

Online Registration is available only via credit card.

A1: Use the links below to access the appropriate age matrix.
Boys Baseball - http://www.littleleague.org/Assets/forms_pubs/AgeChartBB.pdf
Girls Softballhttp://www.littleleague.org/Assets/forms_pubs/AgeChartSB.pdf

A2: Yes and no. Being affiliated with Little League means we have to require all players reside within our established boundaries (see Fields and Boundaries).  However, if you live outside the South Hill Little League boundaries AND are not within the boundaries of any other Little League program, your child can play through South Hill Little League.  He/she will need to turn in a waiver request to Little League Corp. to participate in our league.  Click on this Residency Waiver Link, fill in and print the waiver.  Once Section 1 and Section 4 have been completed, signed and notarized, the waiver can either be mailed to:  SHLL, P.O. Box 73831, Puyallup, WA 98373 or you can submit the signed and notarized waiver to your child's team manager.  It’s important to note that according to Little League rules, only players residing within the SHLL boundaries will be eligible for SHLL All-Star teams.  The waiver to play during the regular season does not allow eligibility for any All-Star teams.

A3: Residence shall be established and supported by documents from THREE OR MORE of the following categories to determine residency of such parent(s) or guardian:
1. Driver’s License, 2. Voter’s Registration, 3. School records, 4. Welfare/child care records, 5. Federal records, 6. State records, 7. Local (municipal) records, 8. Support payment records, 9. Homeowner or tenant records, 10. Utility bills (i.e., gas, electric, phone, waste disposal), 11. Financial (loan, credit, investments, etc.) records, 12. Insurance documents, 13. Medical records, 14. Military records, 15. Internet, cable or satellite records, 16. Vehicle records Note: Example – Three utility bills (three items from No. 10 above) constitute only ONE document.

A4: Determine your child's age according to Little League for the 2010 season then see the list below...
Boys (5 years old) 'T-Ball'
Boys (6 years old) 'T-Ball' or 'Coach Pitch Minors' (CP allowed with 1 year min. T-ball or other organized baseball experience)
Boys (7 years old) 'Coach Pitch Minors' (boys who played T-ball last year or have no previous baseball experience)
Boys (7 years old) 'Coach Pitch Majors' (boys who played coach pitch last year)

Boys Baseball (9-11 years old - 'No Tryouts') 'Minors' (AA)
Boys Baseball (9-10 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Minors' (AAA)
Boys Baseball (10-12 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Majors' 10 year olds need to register for AAA and then attend Majors tryouts.
Boys Baseball (13-14 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Juniors'
Boys Baseball (15-17 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Seniors'
Girls (5-6 years old) 'T-Ball'
Girls (7-8 years old) 'Coach Pitch'
Girls Softball (9-10 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Minors' (AAA)
Girls Softball (11-12 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Majors'
Girls Softball (13-14 years old - 'Tryouts/Draft') 'Juniors'

A5: Coach and/or buddy requests are allowed only in the T-ball, Coach Pitch and Minors A (A-ball) divisions.  Any coach or buddy requests MUST be made for a coach or buddy that is of the same 2010 season age/playing division as your child.  Do not request a coach or buddy that is NOT in the correct division for your child as that is not allowed.  Additionally, if possible please provide your child's returning team's name in the comments area to assist in registration (only if the returning team meets the request criteria listed above).  All requests are just that, South Hill Little League still reserves the right to place your child on any team as needed.

A6: In order for your child to play in one of the “Drafted” divisions (AAA, Majors, Juniors, or Seniors), he/she MUST attend tryouts.  The only exception is for players that were drafted last season and are returning to the same team (in the same division) this coming 2010 season.  Those players DO NOT need to attend.

A7: Prior to the beginning of the season we will be conducting tryouts on both Saturday and Sunday for each of the “Drafted” divisions.  View the South Hill Baseball Calendar for dates/times.

A8: Players that do not participate in tryouts will be randomly placed on teams by the Player Agent and the corresponding Division Director.  In some divisions, this may affect the player’s eligibility for an All-Star team.

A9: Yes, but only for players in the Fastpitch girls division.  The said player must be 8 years old (minimum) for the 2010 Fastpitch season.  Players may try out for the draft.  If an 8 year old elects to try out for the AAA level, you must pay the AAA registration fee.  If the child is NOT drafted she will then be placed back either on her original Coach Pitch team or assigned to another team of the League and Director’s discretion.  This also means there will be NO refund of the difference in league fees.  This tryout method is also encouraged for older age groups as well; 10 year olds tryout for Majors, 12 year olds tryout for Juniors, etc.

A10: Yes, but only for players in the Majors boys division.  The said player must be 10 years old for the 2010 baseball season.  10 year olds are allowed to attend the Majors tryouts to be considered for a Majors teams.  In the event they are not drafted in the Majors division, they would then be required to attend the Minors AAA tryouts held following weekend.  You will need to register them in AAA and then attend Majors tryouts.  Our system has limitations regarding multiple league options for an age group (overlapping them makes it difficult).  If your son makes Majors we will move him manually in our database to the proper team.

A11: In some cases, yes.  Traditionally there are a few divisions within our league that won’t have enough teams to provide a challenging, multi-team environment.  When that situation occurs, South Hill Little League “interlocks” with additional little leagues outside of the Puyallup area.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to tell if interlocking is necessary until registration closes.  At that time we will know how many divisional teams we can form from within our own league and if interlocking is necessary.

A12: Some of the older age divisions will play significantly more games (due to league interlocking) which will in turn require additional fees to cover the added costs for umpires, field usage, scheduling, etc.

A13: All South Hill Little League players will be able to keep their hats/visors.  Additionally, our T-Ball and Coach Pitch players will also be able to keep their jerseys (t-shirts).  However, players at the Minors “A” and above divisions will have to return their jerseys for league use the following season.

A14: The league has worked with multiple agencies to make sure we are doing all we can to educate coaches of the signs.  During the coaches and team parents meetings we will hand out information on concussions, what to do if a concussion is suspected and when the player can return to play after a head injury.  We have also looked beyond that and have added information on how to spot concussions for the parents and players as well.  In the registration process there is a link which you will need to select, read and acknowledge.  This information sheet is to inform you as to what to look for and what the league requirements are if a concussion or head injury is suspected.

NOTE:   Pricing increases were necessary  for the older Interlocking teams for 2010 to cover the costs associated with additional number of games played, umpires, field rental, etc.

NOTE:   Beginning in 2010 , a  league-wide requirement of sweat equity  is being asked of every family .  To help encourage this much needed help, fees for each registration have increased $25.00 for the season but if you are willing to help out (we are requesting at least 2 hours per family/player) you can select the box stating that you will volunteer some time during the season to help the league  and  you will receive an instant credit of $25.00 per player which will keep the fees the same as last year , with the exception of interlocking teams.

NOTE: All leagues with players between 8 and 14 years old will have between 2 and 4 Saturday Games this season.  Be prepared to potentially have games on any Saturday during the season.
